The Lord’s Prayer for Christmas
(to the tune of “O Little Town of Bethlehem”)
O, Father who reigns up above,
We praise Your Holy Name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done
Both Earth and Heav’n the same.
We pray that You provide us
With daily Word and Bread,
Your love exceeds our human needs.
Please keep your children fed.
Show mercy, Father, when we fail,
Forgive our foolish way.
Cast out our sin and enter in;
Be born in us today.
When harm is done against us,
May we forgive as well.
May we extend Your love to mend,
In the name Emmanuel.
How hard it is to walk by faith
With darkness all around.
When temptings rise and Satan tries,
May righteous strength be found.
Deliver us from evil,
Defend us with Your might;
That we may sing to Christ our King,
With praises born this night.
Yours is the Name above all names.
We worship and adore
The God who gave His Son to save
And hope to all restore.
All glory, praise and honor
To our Redeemer bring.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Jesus, the newborn King!
