Humility of Jesus
Philippians 2:1-11

May I have the mind of Jesus who poured out his love for me.
Bound to him now through his Spirit, may I learn humility.
Equal as the Holy God was he, emptied self with nothing more.
Found in nature as a servant, Christ the man our likeness bore.
Now incarnate as a human, Jesus taught humility.
He submitted in obedience, leading to Gethsemane.
Crying “Father, take this cup from me. Yet not my will be, but Thine.”
He showed love to all who mocked him, yet his cross was surely mine.
Therefore, God was pleased to raise him, so we crown him with our praise.
His the name above all others, he will reign for endless days.
Every knee shall bow in heaven; earth and hell declare his creed.
Every tongue shall sing his glory; “Jesus Christ is Lord indeed!”
